Stars Do Shine Education Foundation

Description
Stars Do Shine (SDS) is an education program that empowers young people, ages 15 – 30, from various marginalized backgrounds and provides them with the support they need to finish their high school education and pass the Myanmar national exam. This program can support youth who previously dropped out of school, typically due to family and financial responsibilities to pursue their educational dream and career pathways. The project aims to convince students that they, just like any other young people of their age elsewhere, can become what and who they aspire to be and inspire other young people in their community. It supports them with breaking the youth unemployment cycle and poverty cycle of their family and community.

Paws Pals is a SDS student volunteer organization that has created an education program about Spay and Neutering and Rabies Vaccinations for the very large stray dog population in Taunggyi. Working side by side with local veterinarians twice a month, the students catch stray dogs, spay or neuter them and give them vaccinations with the hope that the population can be reduced.
