Professional Workshops with Refugee Communities: Thailand-Myanmar Border & USA
Workshops
Since 2010, an interdisciplinary team from the collective provides short term intensive trainings and workshops in the areas of health, mental health, community organizing, administration and youth programs along the border to resident providers. This train to trainer model allows for approximately 150 residents/year to work with the collective annually. The work is co-led by Cultural Consultants & Community Liaisons that once resided in the camps and now live in Salt Lake City. They provides invaluable cultural and language guidance. This program stems from relationships that were formed with collective founding members and newly resettled people with refugee status from the Thailand/Burma border.
